FAQ

How long have you been playing violin? Did you go to school for it?

I started playing violin when I was 6, and did my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Violin Performance (from the University of Miami & San Francisco Conservatory of Music)

What software do you use to record and edit your videos?

I use Logic Pro X for audio recording, and Final Cut Pro X for video editing.

Where can I find sheet music for your arrangements?

All of my licensed sheet music is available exclusively through Musicnotes HERE. Because of the size of my existing catalog and the amount of time it takes to prepare sheet music for publication, many arrangements will not be published. You can find an updated list of all available titles HERE.

If it is not on this list, it is not available. Emails asking if songs not on the list are available will not be answered under most circumstances.

Please note that many of my arrangements are not suitable for sheet music publication because of the way they were arranged and performed (not playable live, lots of synth parts, etc). In addition, any arrangements I co-write with another musician—such as Purpleschala, Kristin Naigus, David Peacock—are also not available because I don’t hold the rights to sell those myself. This includes tracks such as Promise of the World, Clock Town, Breath of the Wild: Main Theme, Merry-Go-Round of Life, and more.

Do you take requests?

I don’t formally take requests but I do appreciate suggestions and ideas! It takes me a very long time to make my videos, and they often involve months of planning and coordination with other musicians, so I can really only do videos for projects I am passionate about. That said, I have also done lots of song ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of if they weren’t sent to me, so feel free to use the suggestion form HERE!

Can you help me give me advice for getting started with recording for YouTube?

I have a video all about getting started with recording from home HERE!

What gear do you use (microphone, strings, camera??)

All of the gear I have used in videos can be found HERE!

Where can I find your music?

All of my music is on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, and Deezer! You can find links HERE.

Why isn’t [song name] on Spotify?

If it is an older song from my channel, it’s probably because the recording quality of my earlier videos wasn’t up to professional distribution standards. I plan to remake some of these older songs in the future because I really would love for them to be available!

If it is a newer song (2017+) it’s probably because the song is not licensable. Because of laws involving copyright and mechanical licenses, not all video game music can be cleared for licensing - generally if the soundtrack was released for sale in the US (appears in iTunes, Spotify, etc) it is fair game but a lot of (especially older) soundtracks don’t meet these requirements.
